10 Mountains, 10 Years - The Quest For A Cure

LGMF is delighted to report our involvement with 10 Mountains, 10 Years - The Quest For A Cure.  10 Mountains is a documentary film project chronicling the ascent to the summit of 10 of the world's greatest peaks by a climbing team known as "The Regulars," to raise awareness for AD, Parkinson's and family caregivers.  From Mont Blanc to Mt. Everest, the film will track the greatest advances and climbs happening in the medical community, alongside the team's endurance at altitude. It also follows select individuals battling these two diseases with their caregivers in the long term. Ultimately it is a story of how a small group of regular people can decide to make a difference- big or small - and then follow through with their promise to make it happen.
 
Join the letter writing campaign! We have mounted a letter writing campaign in all our Leeza's Places for A Trail of Hope - IV - Kilimanjaro, and invite all our friends to join us in acknowledging the courage and commitment of the climbers in this year's ascent to the summit of the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro with an LGMF logo banner and our motto, Take Your Oxygen First! We are writing of our personal experiences as caregivers for parents and loved ones, and describe the hope and comfort we have gotten from learning about this team. This undertaking further puts a voice on the global impact and enormity of the pressing social matter. Each climber will select one letter to carry in his/her backpack all the way to the summit. Every night in Africa, the group will set up camp and take turns reading the letters they are carrying. It will be a wonderful part of the story.  To participate, please email letters to info@leezasplace.org by June 12.
