Leeza's Place at Park Slope Geriatric Day Center
Opening Festivities
Brooklyn, NY
A NOTE FROM LEEZA: I can't say enough about what a spectacular series
of events we had in Brooklyn during our opening of the Park Slope Geriatric
Day Care's Leeza's Place! The gala was flawless: heartfelt and well-attended
by people with passion and commitment. Congratulations to the board and
everyone involved with PSGDC for a wildly successful nighT. We were thrilled
that my friend Linda Dano came and everyone is still taking about our
show-stopping dance number!
The
next day was a continuation of the celebration with all the PSGDC folks
giving it their best. Marianne Nicolosi is a force of nature and along
with Christopher Nadeau, Josephine, Jay and the rest of the staff; they
insured that everthing was handled beautifully.
Now - on to the our wonderful Cathy Warburton, the Leeza care advocate
whom everyone loves! Thank you so much for using your talent and love
to spread the word about supporting caregivers and those with memory disorders.
Our
gratitude is long and includes all the Leeza's Place Staff and volunteers
including Nilka Diaz and Ray Mojica, Sr. as well as Ray Mojica Jr. the
cute chef who created the fabulous food. Mauricio Soto and Patrina, the
great videographer and his assistant. Thank you to Andrea Maniscolco,
Zoe Moffitt, Carlton Allwood and of course, Louise DeBow, Dollie, Val
Jean and Sylvia - our Leeza's Memory Television stars!
I will never forget the power of these fews days. To have the State Farm
Memory Wall in the background as "Mr. Brooklyn," Borough President
Marty Markowitz hosted his own version of ET, Extra and Access Hollywood
rolled into one was quite a sight.
To
all those guests who joined us, we hope to see you again soon and to all
who wrote tributes for the Wall, please know that your heartfelt stories
will become part of a powerful national effort to honor caregivers, those
famlies who currently struggle with memory disorders and those who have
past.
Thanks so much everyone. We've only just begun.
Blessings, Leeza
