Leeza's Place by WellMed at the Bob Ross Senior Center
Our nonprofit has entered into a new model for healing with a managed care company, WellMed and the San Antonio city government.a three-legged stool which stands as an example for new growth. The rest of the country who could learn a lot from the example set by WellMed and the City of San Antonio about serving the community and moving quickly and efficiently to answer the needs of its citizens.
As usual, our co-founder and executive director Dr. Jamie Huysman had done months of work leading up to this day, led by our hero, Miguel A. Gutierrez, head of National Hispanic Affairs. Both Jamie and I grew from the example and inspiration of two incredible women; my mother Jean Gibbons, and Jamie's Mom, Arlene Huysman.
With WellMed and its visionary leader Dr. George Rapier we are in the best company. From Brian Grundhoefer and Bill Connolly and Richard Manning, we are blessed to be in the company of gifted professionals who are guided by their principles, their mission and their hearts. Special thanks to Bob Ross's beautiful widow, Hannah, along with their children and grandchildren fulfilling Bob's legacy of love, Pete Mckinnon who proudly runs the Senior Center with great care and Maribel Quiala, our tireless angel in the Hispanic world who makes sure our message is accessible to all Spanish speaking guests who need it. Our Leeza Care Advocate, Maxine Vieyra, is ready to take the reigns from Marissa Chapa (our advocate from our Leeza's Place by WellMed on Nacogdoches in San Antonio) who along with the fabulous Bonnie Bonomo (our Leeza's Place Quality Control Specialist) trained her that if she opened the doors as wide as her heart and her arms things would be just fine. Congratulations to all as we welcome to the family the guests and staff of Leeza's Place by WellMed at the Bob Ross Senior Center. |
