Leeza’s Place by WellMed at the Bob Ross Senior Center is two years old...

My how we have grown since our doors first opened. To celebrate our 2nd birthday on August 22nd, we originally planned on having just a small little birthday party, but each day it kept growing and growing and growing...and before we knew it, we had a full blown fiesta on our hands!

Joining us on our special day was Sidney Hurlbert, a distinguished motivational speaker, who came to share some words of wisdom with our caregivers. Whenever he speaks to our group, his topic is never the same and it's always interesting and fun. His words of inspiration really make you stop and think what's possible in the world and what you can (and can't) change.

We also had a very special guest join us for our celebration. Our very own Bonnie Bonomo, National Director of Operations, all the way from Florida joined in on all the fun! And she pulled a fast one on our Leeza Care Advocate Marisa Chapa by offering caregivers the opportunity to share the impact this Leeza’s Place and Marisa has had on them and the community.

We were so blessed to have our community partners like Hospice, and our home health agencies, pharmaceutical companies, the Alamo Service Connection team and of course our WellMed partners, Carol and Debbie, present to share and celebrate our special day. Carol addressed the group and reinforced WellMed’s commitment to our Leeza’s Places in San Antonio and The Valley. We were so full that we had to set up chairs all the way outside our doors! Looks like we'll be needing a bigger space next year!

After the event, one of our caregivers told me, "We are always looking for the fountain of youth, but at Leeza’s Place, we found the fountain of LIFE.” So true...
