Marisa Chapa, the Leeza’s Care Advocate for Leeza’s Place at WellMed, is experience in working with families and children for the past 21 years for low income households and communities in San Antonio. From all aspects of training on advance curriculum to providing services to a variety of professional audiences, Marisa familiarity with caregiving situations and programs make Leeza’s Place at WellMed one of a kind.
Marisa’s interest in working with caregivers and seniors began when her father was diagnosed with dementia. Marisa cared for her father for over 15 years and knows first hand that being a caregiver is not easy. Her compassion for helping others in making choices for their loved ones is truly important. Marisa is always seeking information that will help caregivers to Educate, Empower and Energize.
In addition, Marisa maintains an excellent ability to not only communicate well, but communicate in a manner that brings out the best in others. She is free of judgment and views everyone who steps in her living room with great value and respect. This is conveyed to all who work with Marisa as she has created a team of harmony and focus. As a primary promoter of programs, Maria has built a reputation of high esteem for Leeza’s Place at WellMed.

“Check out this video feature from our family at Bob Ross!!!
Thanks from Leeza”
“I received so many lovely gifts at the holiday....the ones that continue to enrich me are always the ones that were made with love and creativity.
The package that arrived from our Leeza’s Place by WellMed at the Bob Ross Senior Center from Marisa Chapa and Nadine Bradshaw was one of the most memorable for me this year. Marisa directed a video featuring the guests ((our family) at Leeza's Place throughout a number of special occasions...suppport groups, holidays, events....all of those moments were produced by Nadine (our super volunteer!) and edited by Nadine's son, Eddie. It makes our work really come alive seeing all of the people who make up our beautiful community there in Texas.
The music is gorgeous...Eddie used our "Reflections" CD which features Josh Grobin, Reba McIntire, Celine Dion and many others. (You can order it on our site...it makes for great gifts!!)
WE know that music connects our souls to special times in our lives and in our memories, it is the last thing to fade. The pictures along with this music was an emotional experience for me because it is evidence of our dream coming alive.
Marisa and Nadine included everything in their package to me...including tissues for the tears they knew would come, hot chocolate and popcorn for watching the video and even a bell necklace for celebrating! But the DVD was the star. I am sharing it with you now with my deep appreciation and love to Dr. Jamie , Dr. Rapier, and everyone at Leeza's Place at Bob Ross……. Thanks Marisa and Nadine for this beautiful video!”
